I think that's what I'm going to have to do because the whole thing is just getting more and more annoying.

The paid account limit is 30 (which I could never survive on since I have 30 fandoms alone lol). If you have a paid account you can buy a cheap add on for 100 userpics, and then you get an extra one every so often. I've had a paid account for like almost two years now so I've earned 10 extra through that.
