Well, today started out as just a crappy day, but now it's pretty much become the worst day of my life.

I'm supposed to leave for Japan in just under 2 weeks, but now I'm serously considering not going.

I have no clue as to what had happened today, but you shouldn't just kill everything just on one thing. Though, maybe I should've asked what exactly happened that's making you re-consider your plans?
