Japanese celebrities and reading

Maki Horikita understands how I can be alarmed when people tell me that they don't read. She recommended books in her segment of the radio show GIRLS LOCK!, and she seemed shocked when her Hana Kimi co-star Toma Ikuta said that he only reads manga. what do you think about the short novels/etc. that have been adapted for reading on the keitai? did you see many people doing that on the train, or was it all manga? (or could you not tell, since you probably didn't want to creepily stare over their shoulders like me...) ;p

I couldn't tell on the train, and none of my Japanese friends talked about keitai novels (maybe they haven't caught on in the countryside). They must be popular since one of them, Koizora, would up being turned into a movie and a hit drama.

I still prefer actual hard copies, but keitai novels seem to be really convenient. I'm assuming they're serialized so they'd probably be an easy read.

aww takumi has a fave author.. cute...lolz ... toma & manga =addiction. but he nowreads dazai ozamu..
