More Pinnacle Crack

I acquired Doctor Who and the Doomsday Weapon from the Niantic Book Barn today.

It uses the same descriptive paragraph on the back, and inside, while it doesn't identify (or misidentify) the Doctor involved we get nice compact summaries of The Master and Jo.

I posted these to my girlfriend over AIM, and we had the following reaction--

her: Obv. whoever wrote that was a HUGE Doctor/Master shipper and did not want Jo interfering.
her: With her GIRL COOTIES.
me: HAHA IT IS TRUE
me: I would describe Jo as "Jo can be perceptive at some times, but when the Doctor doesn't notice she sulks and crosses out the 'Mrs. Jo Doctor' written in the margins of her notebook." 'cause I wouldn't say she gets infuriated ever
her: *LAUGHS* Exactly right, that.
her: MRS. JO DOCTOR.

I love Jo. I am just occasionally mean to her.

*does not have a Jo icon, or she would have used it*

Hee.

I do too. In fact, she's a big part of the next fic I'm writing. But yes, Jo would doodle that. And I have come to the conclusion that Rose=new!modern!Jo taken to the extreme. At least Jo had the sense to leave the Doctor for another man. ;)

I don't have a Jo icon either! I should remedy this. Here's a Liz instead?

Ooh, Jofic. And I do remember saying, after the first time I saw Jo and Three interact, "Well, that explains the Doctor's relationship with Rose."

Oddly, Jo also reminds me of Jamie. I mean, Jamie's more grumpy and less with the making puppy eyes at the Doctor (though uh, they do grope a lot), but he and Jo seem to share an intense loyalty to the Doctor and a desire to get things done despite having a sort of... fish-out-of-water quality to their experience level. I think what I'm saying is, Jo's more like Rose, as a person, but I can totally see the Doctor's relationship with Jo as a PTSDish reaction to losing Jamie.

Alternately, I shouldn't think about these things when I should be either a) reading Plato or b) sleeping.

The Time Lords, by the way... just in case you didn't know

...the TARDIS, the incredible flying police call box Well, I wouldn't have put it quite like that... :)

I just can't believe they have three paragraphs to say about the Master and only one about Jo! As if there's nothing else to her than that.

*shrug* Pinnacle mostly published men's adventure novels (like The Executioner and the Destroyer). I can see them thinking of archnemesises being important and females as not worth much attention.

You can't make this stuff up, though...at least I couldn't.
