Power, how I have missed you

Aug 29, 2011 12:33

The super got the garage door open this morning, so I decided to go out for breakfast and to do a few errands, including stocking up on AA batteries as one of my radios had eaten most of mine. When I got back, the power must have just come on as he was restarting the garage door opener ( Read more... )

I think you did quite well!

Hopefully there won't be a next time...

We'll see what we can do about the tub - remind Dad before November. If you don't take baths, that's the kind of thing you don't realize until you try to store water in it.

Leverage was good, although this was not the best season they've had. Everytime I hear Mark Sheppard with his natural accent I want to shout "Now, Canton!"

Seems as if everyone made it through the storm without major problems.

Oh, there will be a next time. I don't lose power every snowstorm, but enough of them to make it worth while.

I suspect it's a simple fix, but its not something I've done before, and I'm not sure where the shut off valve for the shower is.

I left a message on dad's voice mail yesterday. For some reason, his cell phone is the only number I had in mine.

Yes, he got the message. We went out for lunch at a Japanese tappan place, and then to see whether he could get malt at a wine and beer supplier, but it was close. He needs it to make bagels.

Talk to you soon.

You did better than I would - electric stove, no natural gas here :-( I do always have a ton of batteries and flashlights due to regular power cuts, though. And I love my book light. It's kept me sane.

I am planning to get 3G when I get an iPad, though, for this exact thing. And I may look at a car charger as well, in case of long power cuts!

Definitely did better than I would have. My plan has always been 'evacuate'. This is actually a pretty bad plan, I think. :/

Glad to know you made it through all right. *all the hugs*
