Haha...this is actually a bit short of my norm - I can usually hit 1000 or 1100. =P What I do is after I pick a challenge to write on, I try to think through where I want to go with the piece and/or make a very simple outline. That way I'm not trying to decide what to write during my 30 mins. Then I start my time and just type - I don't do any edits, I don't rearrange anything, I just type for 30 mins solid. After the time is up, I go back and take out things and do minor grammar edits. I don't add anything to it, as that defeats the purpose of WB; in fact I usually end up deleting bits and pieces.
I only write a lot when I have a clear direction for the fic. There is the rare occurrence where I get to the middle of something and it just fizzles. That kinda happened with this one - I got distracted by the Snape thing, haha. But that's how I do WB challenges...=P
