I love water color pencils! They're like colored pencils in how they color but they go on smoother like oil pastels almost.

So, question: how do you do shading with water color pencils. Do you do the shading in normal pencil first and then just color over it?

It depends how lazy I'm feeling. With something like this that was basically not a project and more like something that I only worked on one day I'd draw it and shade in pencil then go over with watercolors. With something I'd spend more time on I usually outline in colored pencil, fill in with watercolors and then go over and shade with a mixture of dry water color pencil and colored pencils.
