Summary: So the idea here is a 'foreign exchange' student. She's Russian, and her mum wanted her to come to Hogwarts, so here she is. Anna Pelovsky is like.. a Russian version of Malfoy and Snape put together, for lack of a better comparison. Her father drilled into her the harshness and yet love for the dark arts, but at the same time, the not knowing that there was any other choice. Will Anna be able to grow and make friends that her family wouldn't usually approve of.. or would she stay in her little bubble? We'll see.. I don't even know yet!
Character List: Anna Pelovsky, made up character. It's her point of view we'll be looking at, I suppose. It's set in the Marauders Era, cause I like that more.
Pairings: I've planned none so far. But I've decided to use the information pre-Deathly Hallows. So there won't be any worry about any ridiculous spoilers. Yay for creative leniance.
Genre: I never really thought about Genre. This first chapter has a bit of drama I suppose.
Warnings: I don't see of any warnings necessitated. Other than that I've taken some creative leniance with ages.
Other: So I've mixed some ages up. Because it's more how I pictures them when I read the book, and it flows better in my mind, alrightty? Also, I've posted this in a guild on gaiaonline, though it only has the first two or three chapters. So I'm still working. I hope to create something lovely for you!
"Mother.." There were people all around Anna as she tried to wave goodbye to her parents. She hardly understood why she had to school away from Russia, away from her parents, and so far from the magic she loved. Though, the great scarlet train looked rather inviting. Her mother waved frantically from the platform, her father simply stood, great black cloak billowing enough for both adults.
Anna Pelohov really was the perfect mix between her parents. Dark hair like her father, that went to between her shoulders, along with the pale skin her father possessed so wonderfully. And then her mothers thin lips and green eyes. Not the best looking eleven-year-old around, but certainly stunning in her own right.
She had spent the last year learning some English, though she hadn't known why until a month ago, when she received her letter to Hogwarts. At the time, Anna had asked where in Russia the school was, and what sort of magic it specialized in. She knew her father would have nothing but the useful stuff, the good stuff for his only daughter. Never would she have guessed that she was to be sent to England for something as simple as school.
The girl found an empty compartment. Or, at least it was relatively empty. There was only one other, and he seemed quiet enough not to bother her while she read her novel. In fact, that's what the hook nosed boy seemed to be doing himself. And so, she sat, flicking her hair off to the side, and grabbing her book.
A strange sight these two looked, not talking, though the boy was definitely stealing looks every few pages. Neither looked older than the other, and there was a good half an hour of serene silence when a rowdy group of boys entered the compartment. Or rather, two rowdy boys, a quiet shaggy looking boy and a mouse like tag-along.
"Sirius.. are you sure.. I really hope we get the same house." One of the rowdy boys smiled at the other, running a hand through his hair. It seemed they had all met on the platform and become rather instant friends. None of them seemed to notice Anna or the hook-nosed boy at all.
"You'll have to get in Slytherin then, James.." The boy addressed as Sirius looked disgusted at himself. "All the Black's go in Slytherin.." He thought for a moment. "Well.. except Andy.. but she was a special case. I don't know if I'll survive Hogwarts in the same house as my dearest cousins." He pursed his lips, and James laughed heartily. A laughter which was joined by the giggling of the mousy boy.
"They can't be that bad.. Come on now.." James was cut off by the compartment door sliding open once more. This time however, the robes were not the solid black of first years. They all had a lovely green embroidery.
It was obvious which one was the ring leader. Stunning white blond hair, standing at the front. There girls on either side of him, one with jet black hair, the other with the same white blond. And of course, a gaggle of boys behind. "Is this him Bella?" The boy sounded haughty, as though he had been raised to think that anyone that wasn't him was beneath him.
The dark haired girl nodded. "It is.. You'll upset your mother greatly if you don't get in Slytherin Sirius." She laughed, a high pitched laugh.
"Well, he's always been the bad seed, sister." The blond haired girl nodded. Their light conversation was cut off by the younger male standing.
"Get out of here Cissy.. Bella.. and you too.. Malfoy right? I don't want anything to do with any of you!" He pulled out his wand. A stupid idea, really. One first year, before classes had started against a gaggle of third years. "Gerroff Remus.." The shaggy haired boy was trying to seat him back down.
The looks on those green robed student's faces was obviously one of loathing. The cousins had never gotten along. Though, it was probably because Sirius had openly expressed dislike for the Black family pureblood mania since he could read.
There was a small shouting match between Sirius and his cousins for a few minutes. Anna could only note that she heard 'blood traitors' and 'mudblood' plenty of times on the girls' part. They were only cut off by a wave from the ring leaders hand. It seems that they had finally noticed the two quiet outcasts by the window.
And now, Anna felt all eyes on her and the boy. She hoped they would just leave, but the blond boy couldn't retain his curiosity. "You.. who are you?"
