I have such a soft spot for Ernie and Hufflepuff. You wrote a great backstory giving more depth to how Ernie ended up being the one student insisting that they stay and fight during the Battle of Hogwarts. <3

Thank you! I love Ernie too. He's a good guy, but he still has his flaws and doesn't fall into the "Hufflepuffs are nice 100% of the time" stereotype.

I liked that Neville ficlet. I always enjoy reading what students were doing during that year that Severus was Headmaster.

I don't read much fics about Ernie but you made me more curious about him. I like how you tied in Cedric to the story too.
