I would like to know how I did on my trial -- and I like the alternate position, I felt super bad not being able to make all the matches last term, so just in case the same troubles come up, I'll take this route. Question though, when will team captains be decided/match dates be announced? I'd like to know if I am still able to hold my spot even as an alternate, and to be able to poosibly schedule my traveling around the match dates.

Captains applications will be put up in the locker rooms shortly. We have decided to go with the same set up for captains as last term, where only core members may apply.

As far as match dates, the first availability poll is up for Gryffindor v. Ravenclaw right here. Also there is a tentative schedule for (basically) the rest of the term. :)

Yikes! Those tentative dates don't look promising for me at all, so it's definitely better off that I not be a core member. Although I will say that wish I could have kept my Captaincy position -- despite not being able to play often, I had very positive feedback with my leadership, and I do love getting to support and motivate my team and Common Room, and I had hopes to get an even better hang on all of that during my second term as Captain, if it was to be ( ... )

As you know, from being a captain last term, the captain plays a vital role in bringing forward issues from the team members during gameplay and is reguarly consulted regarding challenges. Therefore, the captain needs to be someone from the core team, who is expected to play every match, unless owing to extreme circumstances. You can still support and motivate your team from an alternate position - there's no one saying you can't. In fact, I'm sure your team would love the support and cheering from their previous captain ( ... )
