I really enjoyed this first part. Even though a long separation is unusual in H/G fic, I think it's an interesting way to work with the characters. Ginny's voice feels very established, and I could totally see Harry being all moody and hard to deal with. Good work so far! Can't wait for part 2.

Great start! I love your characterization of Ron and his relationship with Ginny. I also felt really sorry for Ginny when Gwenog gave her a talking-to. And lol at Ginny's thoughts about her tart. ;)

Hee - this promises to be loads of fun. I always enjoy H/G at cross-purposes before finally getting together.

The voice feels really good and honest. I love H/G stories that begin with a long separation for some reason. I like to think Ginny has her own life somewhere. This just fits so well together. Great job! Onto the next chapter---
