Keep in mind that FB has a pretty good smartphone app that people can check during the day at work, while LJ's app is not nearly as capable. Your 1:50pm post is when many people are working, and they may not check LJ until the evening. If at all, since LJ in general is a lot more dead than it used to be.
That said, happy completed-one-more-lap-around-the-sun day! (Even though I already said it on FB. And in person. Should I tweet it, too? And put it on G+? And email it? How many additional forms of recognition would you like? :) )
I actually generally don't wish people a happy birthday on LJ, because writing one line in a LJ post feels weird (although I'll comment on someone else's one-line post to concur with birthdayness, so). But I know other people used to do things like that, and don't anymore, which makes me sad.
