possible fire emblem rp???

Feb 06, 2011 21:49

I owe this thing a real post again at some point (and I have adorable dog pictures I should share with people who aren't on plurk) but that'll come later, sorry bros.

but anyway: rainy_takako and I were talking about how we would really love a single-fandom, canon-compliant roleplay based on Fire Emblem; specifically, Tellius. No panfandom NARUTO GETS LOST IN ( Read more... )

I put up a private plurk with relevant link as far as suggestions for an alternate to LJ, but I'm down with anything.

Definitely into the "between FE9-10" thing, like I already said. The rules about OCs are also logical and I approve. I'm okay with playing multiple characters because I'm not really RPing many other places right now, but I have no idea how many people we're actually gonna have in the end.

I pretty much expect I'll end up playing multiples because there are too many characters in Tellius who I love to pieces. I figure we wouldn't be too harsh on activity anyway as long as you're around? Like, I was thinking, instead of a lot of places where every character has to do x amount of stuff per month...something more like, as long as you're responsive OOCly, and if people need you for a scene they're able to get you, it's not a big deal if you have a character way out in Goldoa who isn't doing much because there's just plain not as much action over there. I think some places are naturally going to have more going on, and sometimes you just have a shitty month and so on.

Yeah, this pretty much. Though we probably should decide on a region or two we're focusing on for the actual setting, but characters can be from anywhere obviously as long as there's a reason for them to be away.

I think the ones with the most potential for shit going on in that interlude are probably Daein and Crimea; you've got reconstruction, Begnion's occupation, and the tension between Elincia and the Crimean nobility. The beast tribe could also be involved in Crimean stuff pretty easily. Maybe expand to consider Begnion included, actually; the politics back home there always have potential for backstabbery, and with Sanaki making overtures to the laguz and Tormod working on that and whatnot, there could be some interesting shit happening.

Ideally I'd like for someone to be able to play in whichever area they want, but it's gonna be a lot harder to give people shit to do in Goldoa.

Hello!

I'm one of Taka's friends, and she told me about this RP! I'm interested in joining if you'll have me; I'm only involved in one other RP so I should be available to post as needed.

Sup!

I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOU, because if Taka says you're cool then you are clearly cool. :3

Clearly. A Taka seal of approval is one of the highest sought-after, but rarely conferred awards known to the entire interwebs. 8|b

I try to be as cool as can be! But sometimes I miss the mark, ahaha ;;

I'm all down for going with an in between PoR/RD timeline. Fleshing out the storyline between that interval is fun! I wouldn't mind doing canon's or OC's, so long as I think of a logical reason to fit in everything. I'll try to help with idea's, but I'm kind of lacking in such right now, hrm.

I would be interested, but not right now. Since I'm barely keeping up with my two RPs at the moment, I'd probably wait until the summer to join and take my chances with which characters are left. But what you've got here is a totally awesome idea. :Db

I'm definitely hoping to keep the pace a little more relaxed on this, but I can totally understand that. I'd love to have you whenever. ♥

As you know, all I know about Fire Emblem is what I learned from Heritage. :D However, if OCs are involved.....

I personally think that taking the wiki crash course in Tellius should be plenty to let you play OCs! It worked well enough in Heritage. :3

Then I'm totally on board. I haven't had a good RP in AGES, and I think Allen would like it if I played less Ragnarok. :|

:]

To give you a chance to get your ideas running while we're hammering out details:
Here is the wiki page on Tellius! We'll definitely be working around the Crimea/Daein area, maybe also Begnion, but we might stay regional just to try and keep people together and give them more to do. We're looking at putting it between Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, so looking over the PoR plot would probably be helpful but the wiki description for it is really barebones, augh.

(Although PoR is one of the easier FE games, and you still have a gamecube, so if you can get ahold of it you should totally play it, it's fun.)

From my experience with Heritage I rather strongly suggest keeping to one region and branching out one region at a time as interest and the character pool increases.

Also, FE9/10 canon has that... stone thingamabob that Kurthnaga used to contact Almedha, so if you want to do the whole mysterious device deal it could work if you used something similar?

Haha, yeah, I remember those poor stranded Isaacians. :(

I had totally forgotten those things existed, now that you mention it. I r smrt.

I vaguely remember him having a stone, but I don't remember the communicating part... then again it's been a while since I played RD. But I'd still prefer to have posts in third-person prose unless everyone else doesn't want to.

I don't remember if they showed much of how they work, just that Almedha and Kurthnaga used it to send a message somehow. should probably get back on my current Radiant Dawn replay instead of dicking around with SaGa, orz.

But I'm completely down with pure third person prose. Partly because it's a more rare commodity in LJ RP these days and I like doing it, and partly because my experience with prose games has generally been that they're naturally a little slower/more relaxed pace, which IMO is a good thing here.
