You like? Anything that I should change before I do, flist?? I thought about suggesting another internet drama panel, but... I'm too scared of inducing drama. Oh, irony. ( vids, robots and anarchism )
Being surrounded by people who are willing to geek out with me about vidding, robots and anarchy will totally be the MOST FUN EVER. I wish that you could come! I want a method of free instantaneous transportation NOW, or at least a magic money tree.
I heard the internet drama panel last year was great, and I think it'd still betimely... You could always submit a panel description sekritly and not mention it on your lj until closer to or after the con? It seems a significant feature of the recent CA debates have been about tone, appropriate online etiquette, and how to have productive discussions, all of which would be worth talking about at WisCon.
I'm hoping someone is proposing a panel to address racism in SF/F and/or cultural appropriation again, too? Or is that going to be too difficult for WisCon to handle?
I submitted them! Since feedback seemed to be positive and I have to go out shortly.
I feel sure many people will propose panels about race and CA. I think that those might be better coming from people who are were more involved in the debates (not on the side of fail, obviously) than I was. If I think of a good way to frame such a panel while I'm out I'll propose it when I get back, though.
Yay! And good. I didn't submit any panels on the subject for the same reason, though it's good to keep in mind that just because someone submits a panel idea, it doesn't mean they'll be on the panel necessarily, so. I am SO looking forward to going to these panels!
I wonder if fandom will soon be able to support a con that focuses on anti-racism in a similar way to how WisCon focuses on feminism? Perhaps as an outgrowth of the Carl Brandon Society and its awards? Or am I being naive?
