In Defense of Trash

Everyone needs both Serious Literature and Trash. Confucius said that. Or Sarah Bernhart. I’m not sure. But it was said, and it was true.

I keep thinking Steampunk is a genre i could do for money--engineer + creative writing--but then i try to read it, and i don't think i could handle the artifice. i bought an anthology a couple years ago and haven't gotten past page one in any story yet.

Yeah, I think being a real engineer might actually hold you back. It's more like you have to really be into "what-ifs" -- though as for good science + fiction, I do like www.dresdencodak.com. Especially this:

some would likely disagree, and i don't think this is a negative, but one might consider bukowski as 'trash' poetry...
