I'm a big fan of success blogs and self-improvement-type literature.  For this reason I like reading Steve Pavlina and other bloggers of his ilk, though few compare to his caliber.  For me it's massively inspiring to see random folks with nothing but some drive and a little writing ability really take off, become well known and well respected.
