We once got a sheet from the vet years ago that said our cat was anorexic, and we thought it meant he was way too thin and we had to feed him up. It turned out vets just use that term to mean a cat had no appetite. They probably have a system for aging them too, like horses.

I really like golden collies like lassie. They'd probably need brushing every day, though. The black and white border collies are everywhere in rural New Zealand. It seems like chihuahuas are really gaining in popularity ... there's at least two living in houses around my neighbourhood.

There used to be a doberman on the corner when I was a kid, and it really put me off dobermans. It was so scary walking home from school because it would go nuts, barking and drooling on the other side of the fence. It had the cropped ears and tail.

Heh, yeah vets have their ways I guess. Weird that anoxeric means "no appetite" for cats. Definitely didn't know that ( ... )

yeah, they're mainly farm dogs, but they're popular pets as well. When I stayed with my friend's family down in the South Island, I had a nice photo of myself and her border collie standing by a river, looking almost like a total southern country girl, but not quite because I lacked gumboots and a red or blue plaid jacket.

Awww. Sounds like an awesome picture! Heh, I've always had a soft spot for Border Collies since Babe. I don't know if I've ever actually met one in real life--but from what I hear they're really friendly and smart dogs.
