...HELLOOOOO SENATOR.

Sev is, for once, feeling quasi-vindicated about his career choices right about now. XD

The ironic thing here is that Mao is still alive for this post. If the Wizarding World hadn't been so exclusionist, they might have known!

I know, it's a real shame, with his people skills. Such a waste.

He's an inspiration to us all.

*gravely*

Very frightening indeed young man. I'm glad you appreciate the gravity of the situation.

And why such measures are necessary.

Oh of course I do!

Just imagine if someone started controlling my mind! They could dress me in... polyester!

And if you noticed someone suddenly acting strangely, you'd want to tell me about it, wouldn't you?

*blinks at what he considers a non-sequitur*

Er...yes. Quite understandably horrifying.

Don't you just love his jacket?! ;)

*boredly* Out of interest, what would be the fate of someone reported to you as acting suspiciously? Do you plan on doing away with due process, or is that half the fun?

Gus doesn't start in the DoM until 76, but I'm assuming Barty will be issuing such memos more than once. ;)

*recites from memory*

They would be brought in for questioning to determine if they were indeed under the Curse. Steps would be taken to remove it and then they would be questioned as to who had done it to them.

All very cut and dried. And legal.

Oh gods yes. I've no doubt it'll become something of a joke around the office. :D

Mm. The question is, Crouch, who would do the questioning. Or rather what.

*isn't above shopping his colleagues to get ahead*

Muaha, I can imagine.

*slight frown*

I have a staff of highly trained witches and wizards at my disposal. Various medical personnel from St Mungos are also available if they're needed. All reports come to me of course, and I have the final say.

Why do you ask?

Just don't let him hear or you could be sacked for conduct unbecoming! ;)

*raises one eyebrow when a stray copy of the memo finds its way into his hands*
I suppose this falls under what you'd call unnecessary gossip, does it?

*leans back*

On the contrary. It's very necessary. We need to check everything! We've got to stay ahead of them! Surely you can see that Mr Prewett.

Meh, sorry, hijacked by work.

I'm sorry, I meant that this memo was something you wouldn't like to make the rounds, is it? *with a raised eyebrow* I do wonder if everything can actually be kept under control. There are always leaks, you know.

No worries! *smacks work with a stick*

*knowing smile*

On the contrary. I think this is an admirable demonstration that I'm doing everything I can to protect the populace.

*positively*

We have ways of finding and dealing with leaks. You can be very sure of that.
