Name: James Potter
Date: June 30th 1978
Format: Note
Relevance: A note from Matron Judith Goode of St Mungo's to Senior Healer Douglas Freeman, relating to James Potter's whereabouts and mood on the day of June 30th, 1978.
Douglas,
I thought I ought to bring a small incident from this afternoon involving James Potter to your attention. It's not a complaint or a request for disciplinary action, it's simply someone sounding a note of concern.
James hasn't been himself has been erratic and unsettled since he found out about the impostor and has made several inappropriate jokes about it.
I tried to broach the subject with him, simply a friendly word in his ear suggesting he might want to talk to someone, someone with professional training.
He assured me there was nothing wrong and suggested that maybe he was acting out of character because he wasn't James Potter, but was someone else. When I asked who he was, he told me that no one seemed sure but to let him know as soon as they'd figured it out. Until then, he said, he was going to be the drunk man at the bar. He left work then, in the middle of his rounds, and apparently hasn't come back.
I really think you need to sit him down for a chat sometime. The poor boy needs help, Douglas.
Judith
