Movie Review: Grindhouse

Ah, the era of exploitation films, gritty B movies made on the cheap, starring actors that may or may not be famous, with questionable plots and usually violent and bloody. The seventies seem so far away now, eh?

Grindhouse fulfills those expectations and more.

I'm very much looking forward to this one. Tarantino and Rodriguez are both very skilled in creating homage and pastiche of other genres, as we've seen from past works like Dusk Til Dawn and Kill Bill.

Hehehe, well, up until the vampires showed up, I thought From Dusk til Dawn was the most awesome movie ever. I seriously wish he'd thought it out a bit more, and had made the vampires more subtle, more insidious, more cunning... rather than "RAAAAWWWRRRRR... *bitebitetearstabstab*BOOM*splatter*" Cause George Clooney and Tarantino were making quite the interesting pair of no-gooders.

Yes, most definitely. You cannot go into the theatre expecting a serious movie. This one is an homage to cheesy-but-awesome B-movies. ^^
