Today in 2004 was the day that changed it all. The greatest comeback in American sports history, reversing the fortunes of the Red Sox against America's most well-funded (and rather immoral) sports team and leading the underdogs to their first World Series pennant in 86 years

That is all quite true, and noble and grand...

But we are still six and a half games up over you!! Mwahahaha!

(Sorry, about that. But you of all people should understand the glee of the underdogs when they win... the only reason I know is cause the Red Sox are tied with the White Sox, and I always have to keep track of those sneaky bastards, they are the Tigers' main rivals at the moment)

Standings aren't everything. In our last match-up the Red Sox won two out of three games against the Tigers.

Regardless, I have to say I've been pretty impressed with the Tigers this season. They've really made an impressive show this year and it's good to see some shaking up in the National League after the Red Sox have shaken up the American one.

Yeah, I don't like the White Sox for the same reasons I dislike the Yankees, that and their fans are just as repulsive with less of a record to back it up.

But yeah, standings really aren't everything, the the east coast has stiffer competition than the Midwest.

That being said, the Tigers are now 7.5 games up over the White Sox! hahaha

this weekend I went to my first Mariners game (against the Red Sox) and learned that there's apparently one thing both Mariners fans and Red Sox agree on-- the Yankees suck.

I would cheer for my third-favorite team, The Mets, but frankly they don't need much cheering right now.
