I saw March of the Penguins today, and really wasn't all that impressed. A lot of the film was noticeably grainy, and as Kelsey explained it was because of the weird light conditions and because they filmed on 35mm. Is it just me or should something like this be recorded in IMAX

Bummer, I've been seeing the DVD of the French version here everywhere, and I was pondering at least renting it, but you're the third person that's said it's pretty lame :-\ No good reviews on it so far :(

It might be worth a rental. I mean it's got interesting stuff, it just does everything it can to make it boring and stupid.

I really liked it actually. I didn't go expecting a real documentary though. But after watching War of the Worlds, and not having to deal with screaming kids overacting, I couldn't help but enjoy the penguins doing their thing.
