It's All About YOU
Name or Nickname: Abbey. I don't really have any nicknames.
Gender: Femina, feminae. : ) Latin just keeps on going, and going . . .
What do you LOVE?: Mmm. . .more than anything? Not having anything to do, and therefore, being able to do anything I want at any time without being bothered. Because I like so many things, I like best being able to do whatever I want whenever I want. Also, cats.
And what do you HATE?: This could take a long time. 9_9 People who don't apologize when they are jerks, inconsiderate people, disrespectful people, people who don't look at you when you are talking, people who just don't care about others and who don't treat others well, people who always ask "Are you ok?" just because you don't always want to be part of the conversation, people who ask "how are you?" and then 15 minutes later ask "how are you?" again because they can't think of anything else to say(this . . .happens to me a lot and I can't figure it out at all), people who make fun of you even though you are unhappy for good reasons, people who talk to you to to be polite but aren't really interested. . .bees. . .lima beans. . .
*sigh* I could go on for awhile. . .but a-actually what I hate more than any other thing is the sound of people chewing. That sounds so neurotic. -sigh-
Strengths Hard to say. I'm a very careful person, and I pay attention to details so I am a good worker and smart in school, and also translates into being a good teacher (my major is history teaching . . . last semester of college -silent cheer-). I have a lot of interests. I am patient and a very good listener who people often look for when they want to vent.
Weaknesses: Oh, none. 9_9
I have a tendency to watch life go by, and not participate fully with others. It's very hard for me to make close friends, or even talk casually to people, because I just don't understand/enjoy small talk and I'm bad at it. I come across as uncaring even though I'm not. I fail at social situations, just. . . floundering and a little awkward . . . so even though I get lonely easily, I avoid socializing. The older I get, the easier it gets to stop trying.. I'm also not very flexible, so I get angry (quietly, kind of like cursing in your head) when people spring things on me, but instead of saying so I find discreet methods of obstinacy while pretending everything is fine. Passive aggressive, I guess. Such as, somebody makes you really, really angry, but instead of telling them. . . you write "You tick me off!!!" in tiny, indecipherable letters on the smallest bit of paper, which you then crumple into the smallest bit of scrap, then nonchalantly leave it in their room where they will never find it and even if they don't just throw it away like trash, they would never be able to read the writing anyway. Not that I've ever done -cough- such a thing.
I felt so much better afterwards though. -headdesk-
Hobbies: I read and write a lot. I love photography. I like a lot of different music because I've been in school choirs even up through college, so I'll listen to about anything, save for some popular music. I also play the organ and piano, because I was going to be a film music major before I became a history teaching major. I practice several different martial arts and teach at a local dojang. I also really love video games, but I've been a responsible college student and havn't really played them for awhile now. Needless to say, 'read more books and manga' and 'play videogames' are pretty high on my 'what to do after college graduation' list (Find a job = #26).
Favorite Color: Blue. It's pretty and rather calming.
What is your favorite food?: Mmmmm I actually really like trying new things, but a few things I wil love forever -- Fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, salmon grilled with soy sauce and garlic, and a horrible weakness for hot dogs in all forms. Homemade food is best; I don't like fast food too much.
Favorite Country (without taking Hetalia into consideration): I can't really choose one country, but the first country I'd ever want to visit is Greece. History major and all that. Not to mention I've had this grand dream of wanting to take an extensive sailing vacation through the Ionian islands in style. Ah, dreams.
Mature or Childish?: After studying to be a teacher for so long there is a scary part of me that is a teacher every moment of every day, no matter who I am dealing with. So mostly mature. I have a really dry sense of humor that is beyond a lot of people, which is great because the middle school students I am doing my student teaching with may never figure out when I am making fun of them and when I am not. No hope for the future, kiddies.
Would you prefer to lead or follow?: Neither. Sometimes it is fun to watch someone who is bad at leading try to lead. . .but only for a little while. Mostly though, those who lead and those who follow simply have nothing better to do.
Let's Talk HETALIA
Favorite Character and WHY: How can I even choose? I have this horrible weakness for characters with glasses, so America, Canada and Austria rate high. I love UK, Germany and China too, I find them really funny. And as scary as I find France is also how amusing I find him. . .
Is there a certain strip that really sticks out for you?: I laugh at the third panel of
this strip every time. Naturally a very sparkly Austria icon had to follow. Also the strip where America puts a cheeseburger on UK's forehead to cure his cold. Um. . .Prussia and his 'diary of the awesome me.' Hungary at the end of
this comic killed me dead on the spot. Prussia and Hungary, two more charcters that I really love.
Hamburgers or Tea OR MAPLE SYRUP?: I do like tea. I'd rather eat hot dogs than hamburgers though.
Who dresses the best in the series? ♥: I actually like how casual and relaxed Spain looks most of the time. And Prussia in battle . . .h-has a cool hat. -_-;;
America/Alfred wants to watch a scary movie! Which one would you pick?: Not a big movie-goer here. I think the last scary movie I saw in a theater was 'The Ring'. So I'd let him choose and make sure I was somewhere where I could fall asleep.
How about a favorite ship/couple?: Not really into shipping in terms of couples. UK and unicorns. XD I saw a fan comic of China and little Japan that made me think that idea was really cute though. Italy and German make me laugh.
AND A LITTLE MORE~
Do you believe in spirits or ghosts?: Well, I believe in the after-life.
You're at war! Do you take the enemy head-on with full force or lay back and take time to tactically move your forces?: I write "I hate you so die!!" on a tiny little piece of paper in indecipherable letters, crumple it up, and leave it in their camp. After that I'd feel better, then rely on my good mind and cool head for strategy.
You have to be transported to a deserted island! Oh no! You're allowed to take three items; what are these items?: One of those readers that store lots and lots of ebooks. Something to write with. Something to listen to? I wouldn't last very long.
Please describe how you look or share a picture if you have one: I'm tall for a girl at 5'11". Blue eyes, brown hair. Glasses because contacts hurt my eyes. If you want, here is a link to a photo meme that I did a few months ago, which are currently the only viewable photos of me on the internet:
>>link<< Any final words?: Sorry that it's so long.
Would you be so kind as to link those surveys you voted on before posting this?:
