Ah, that's a cute concept! I'd always wondered what it would have been like under Germany instead of USA too ever since I found out they were waiting in the wings all that time. This is quite cute.

Dear Lord, seria. You spoil us way too much. I practically melted into a pile of giggles at the wallpaper (would it be all right if I stole it and kept it for myself for evermore?), and then I went into cardiac arrest at the comic! I knew Germany was interested in the Philippines a looooong time ago, but I never thought I'd see anything like this squee-fest,

[Isn't it funny that Belgium wanted a piece of this too? One of her kings - I forget the name - was practically obsessed with the idea of claiming us and collected tons of information on the archipelago and all that.]

As always, your work has definitely cheered me up today (review classes are gross). Again, thank you!

I'm glad this made you happy ^^

I did a bit of research on that Belgian king. the belgian king who tried to buy off the Philippines from Spain was Leopold II of Belgium who was practically a selfish king who has so much similarities from his Father (Leopold I)but also has a big difference as well. Leopold I was diplomatic and Charming unlike his successor and son Leopold II was rude and cruel.

well that's all what I could get the reason for the plan to fail is because of insufficient funds and the Belgian court rejecting this because of some unknown reasons of some sort.

If I'm not mistaken, Belgium had just acquired the Congo, and they were all too busy with that to actually act upon their king's fascination with our dear archipelago. Such a shame that most of the papers concerning his research and proposals were destroyed a long time ago (or left untranslated. I like to think the former, to avoid being negative about this OTL). It would have been an interesting read, needless to say!
