I mean, how many girls do you see with "Josephina" or "Ariana" in their names nowadays? The spanish roots of our blood is dying ._. It's mostly on a whim, tho~

Personalidad:
•Sweet, Loving, Giving, Motherly (Even if most nations are waaay older than her), and usually keeps her feelings to herself.
Although she seems like a super-feminine, "perfect wife" (..."Nadeshiko" type, I think...), she was only taught to be like that...
SHE'S ACTUALLY VERY TOMBOYISH AT HEART (See "KKK")
•Not exacly shy, but avoids people she doesn't know quite well. Though, if she's with people she's well aquainted with, she tends to be chatty and sometimes
even gossips.
•It takes her a while to realize her feelings for people (COUGHAMERICACOUGHWWIICOUGH), and although she likes making sure she has a good set of friends...
She doesn't seem that way online.
•She's very religious, yet she's also supersticious and tends to swear at times (But a few seconds later, you'd probably see her in prayer position, muttering
something like "Sorry, Lord" or "Pasensya po, Bro." in utmost concentration)
•She believes in miracles, God, destiny....and ghosts.

Maikling Talambuhay:
As a very young (newborn, perhaps?) nation, she had already met China a few times, trading with him.
Sadly, he was busy taking care of the other youger nations, so even though she was a fellow Asian nation, the best
he could do for her was trade with her. However, she was not yet well known as a nation.
It started with March 16, 1521. She was living amongst the people of a barangay in Homonhon Island disguised as a normal child,
with few knowing about her importance to the archipelago, Lapu-lapu being of the few, and thus took the arrival of Ferdinand Magellan as a challenge.
After the death of Ferdinand Magellan, a few the people who were able to return to their homes had reported what had happened.
Antonio had decided to with Miguel López de Legazpi's expedition in 1565, found the young nation, and thus the Spanish colonization began.
The first few years came smoothly, and Las Islas Filipinas was given the human name "Maria Josephina Ariana Cruz".
HOWEVER.
With the many conflicts of Spain and other nations, Antonio never seemed to be in much of a good mood for the later years,
Taking his anger out of the Philippines, asking (or even forcing) her to do too much than she could handle.
She was not even allowed to leave his house to meet the other nations.
He still loved her, though. he'd sit by her bedside after she's cry herself to sleep, he's give her beautiful dresses, tell her stories of
his battles such as the Spanish-American War in 1898, but the abuse had still overcome the acts of love within those 3 centuries,
Causing the Philippines to grow as a rebellious teenager. She started out as being one of the women who danced as the men planned, but then she
soon decided to step out of her comfort zone, cut her hair, and show she was more than meets the eye...
The Spanish rule was divided by a brief 2-year interlude from 1762 to 1764, in which Engalnd had gotten a hold of the Philippines. He had
a hard time having her cooperate and act like a lady, so he spent most of his time with her...
Telling her about America's rebellious war of indpendence (He wanted to spare her from Spain, but was'nt really willing to fight FOR the Philippines,
as much of a gentleman as he was.)
As soon as Spain got her back, he decided to allow her to meet and trade with the other nations she came across, but usually, when not trading,
she was planning a war against him.
The Philippine Revolution against Spain began in April 1896, but Antonio, himself, had some secret plans of his own. He had only good intentions
when he sold the Philippines to America for 200 mil. USD during the Treaty of Paris, after their war against each other. He knew America would
treat her well.
Germany also wanted her, but never got a hold after her because just shortly after the Philippines was granted independence from Spain, her freedom
had become void becuase she was not under Spain's rule any longer- She was under America's.
She had heard bad and good things about him, mostly bad, though. She did not trust him.
As much as America tried to cheer her up and change her views, although he made her laugh and although he'd reward her for the chores she did
not change her mind. She still wanted freedom. America, however, knew about this and as much as he wanted the best for her, he knew she did not
know how to handle the challenges of an independent nation.
After a few arguements, a bit of war and all, America finally decided on what to tell the Philippines. "I'm not giving you independence now, but trust me,
I will give it to you when you're ready for it. I want you to prove to me you could handle it, though. So until that day, I want to train you;
...Also, I'm calling this the 'The Jones Act', Got it?"
That statment of his had softened her up quite a bit, and she thanked him greatly for it, but 10 hours after the bombing at Pearl harbor that Alfred himself
felt he had to attend to, there was the surprise attack of Japan. When Alfred came back, Kiku was in charge of the Philippines, and thus America was kicked out of the picture.
However, quote MacArthur's "I shall return!". America did, in fact. after the Philippines was in a puppet-state under Japan's rule and...let's just say....erm....

Within the Japanese rule, the Philippines finaly realized her feelings for her Kuya Alfred, and it showed after he rescued her. She was grateful for his care,
and during the 4th of July, his birthday, the United States of America himself ceded its sovereignty over the Philippines.
"I know how you feel about me... No, seriously- stop laughing! I'm not joking here. You've faced so much and proven yourself, I'm happy I was able to see you in this day.
I'm blessed to have the honor of being your hero... Er, please. I'm really being serious here... Anyway, I'm giving you Independence because that's what you wanted;
That was what I had promised you. I'm keeping this promise, not only because I have to....but because I love you."

SHE HAS A BROTHER....somewhat.
I don't have a name for him yet, but he's also representing part of the Philippines, somehow.
Since Jose-chan is more of "Westernized", He's more of "Provincial". lol. He's mysterious, adventurous, quirky, and corny.
He usually asks his sister to send him Pasalubong from wherever she goes, because he stays at home working at the fields.
He's also less rebellious than his sister (HE'S VERY OBEDIENT) and overexaggerates things. He also enjoys gossip.
IN SHORT HE IS QUITE GAY. I WISH I HAD A FRIEND LIKE HIM D:
