Original Request: The Cruel Mother is a murder ballad about a mother who gives birth to one or two illegitimate children, goes out into the woods and kills them. The mother then begins to see a child or children playing on her way home. The mother says that if they were her children, she would care for them, love them and dress them in fine garments. The child/children tell her that she had that chance but murdered them instead. The child/children follow her, telling her she's going to be damned for this.
What I'd like to see is this happening to one of the nations and one (or two, if they work as twins) of the other nations they cared for. So, England and America/Canada, China and Japan, Rome and North/South Italy (I know they're not twins, but still), anything else really.
And what I think would be neat if the child/children wound up following the mother around for a while.
Some genderbending is probably going to have to occur...
