Original Request: I'm saddened by the lack of HRE/Italia fic out there, so I'm very nicely asking anons for more.
Basically I'd like to see the realization that Italy is a boy - preferably in one of two ways:
A) AU, HRE comes back after the war, eager to see the girl he's been thinking about every second he's been away, only to find himself confronted with the knowledge that his beloved is a boy. Bonus points if he refuses to believe it at first and/or tries to convince himself that it's a trick, an elaborate hoax or that Italy somehow got changed into a boy.
B)Gerita - Germany is HRE but can't remember it, and he's been dreaming of a girl he's madly in love with. He somehow discovers that she's Italy and bam! Inner turmoil! He tells himself that he's not in love with a guy (especially Italy) and must come to terms with the fact that despite their genders his feelings for Italy are just as strong now as they were back when he was HRE.
Major bonuses for fluff and happy endings. Won't you help me out anons?
Summary: The Holy Roman Empire, now that he is incarnate again, is searching for his childhood love. Even if she has grown up, he loves her all the same.
