Blumin' 'eck, this picture took longer than I expected! Ideally, this should have been posted just after their first match but... doh, slow!
Before I say anything else, I must admit this is a place holder '99% done' picture. I'm still tweaking a few details, but since this is a 'Good luck US and UK!'  picture, I wanted to post it before their big games today. At 3pm GMT England and America both have their make-or-break games to see whether they make it through to the next round. Good luck England! Good luck America! I believe in you both! <3 T^T *sniff*

I first began this picture after the England vs America match. Before the game, I told my mate that I wanted both sides to score, and although I really wanted America to do well in the cup, I didn't want England to lose this match! So when the result was 1-1, it couldn't have worked out better for me XD So when I started this pic, I was feeling all warm and fuzzy inside; hopeful, happy and eager for both teams to play well in the rest of the Cup. Sure, the odds were against either of us winning the Cup this year, but the cheerful, friendly spirit that England and America showed together on their game really gave me hope that their spirit would carry both of them through to the next round. In an interview with one of the American lads before the match (was it Donovan? I forget now), it was said that the biggest challenge of this match was familiarity. It was friend against friend as a lot of the American team play for English sides during the rest of the year, and both sides were very familiar with each others playing style. Me though? I loved it XD Hetalia influence, i guess! Stuff like Tim Howard(USA) patting Gerrard(ENG) on the back for his near goal, or Rooney(ENG) and Bocanegra(USA) sharing a joke while the ref grumped over a tackle. This pose itself is actually taken directly from the ENG v US match (Lennon(ENG) & Donovan(US) at the start).

Lest someone should correct my failball knowledge, there are a few cases of me using artistic liscence here. Alfred should't be wearing his glasses for footie, but I wanted them in because... well, it's Alfred! I'm aware '66 is not a footie shirt number, I specifically didn't want to put an actual existing player number on Arthur. To any England fan, my choice of '66' should be obvious, to anyone else, it's because '66 was the last time we won the cup! America's shirt doens't say 'Jones' or a number (I'd haev gone with 50, obviously) because he wore his jacket onto the pitch in the game, and that only said USA on it, not names or numbers.
There shouldn't be so many floodlights placed so close to one another, but I wanted to make sure it was obvious it was a floodlight and not a wishing star or something equally WTFy.The three lions on Iggy's shirt should be the Africa World Cup logo, but I'm dumb and got it wrong
On a final note, my boyfriends boss is a stingy idiot. Just about everyone in England has been given time off of work to go watch the game. My boyfriend's boss has done likewise, but is letting them leave at 15 minutes to three. He'll never make it home in time to see the start, let alone in time to take us both down the pub to watch it with everyone else. Fuuuu.
