Heh, well, I'm thinking he might mean trying to pronounce them if you're not from Iceland. ;)
Especially complicated when the pronunciation is attempted to be converted to katakana, since so many unfamiliar sounds are used. No two Japanese people might spell them the same in katakana, since it takes creative calculation to adapt the many sounds of Icelandic language into the very limited syllables of Japanese.
