A-Anon here~ :3 Most of you probably know me by now, but I'm still mysterious here, so sssshhhh. XD Anyway, I hope you enjoy the first part of the sequel. Please pardon any errors and read on! :)
The view at the top was certainly spectacular. The sky rolled on for endless miles, the blue reaching the ends of the world and beyond. White wisps trailed along for the journey, though they were often too fickle to make it to the edge of everything, dissipating in their ignorance.
The sun was sinking low in the remaining, persistent clouds, flames licking across the almost miniscule plains below.
Ivan gave an approving sniff of the stiff drink.
Yes, he mentally purred, taking a sip, his view was wonderfulHis breath formed heavy vapor as he exhaled into the cool air, his finest vodka warming him from the inside, burning even. He licked his lips, a smirk spreading across his face

Hello~ :3 Please remember to read the notes at the end and pardon any errors. Enjoy! :)He was trapped; encased between the two glass panes of awareness and dreams, just awake enough to perceive, but not act. He could feel the heaviness of the quilt over his frame, the softness of a down mattress, and the absence of Texas from his face

The comment had wakened the straw-blonde instantly, reminding him of what he had learned and the dog tags that still weighed heavily in his pocket. He could play this game just as well as the Russian could, and he would be damned if he was going to lose. But first…
He needed to get the information he had lost.
“B-but I-I mean he-”
Ivan rested his hand on Alfred’s hand, gently ruffling the hair. The expression was mournful, but there was something else. Something shadowy and vile.
“He is dead, my doll; you should remember this, for you were the one who killed him.”
What?
What?
“N-no, I-I-” the American almost found himself believing the elder country, shocked at the violet-eyed man’s ability to weave beautiful, crafty lies. Tears pulsed behind his eyes; while he wished he could say it was part of the act, it wasn’t.
What had he been told and accepted these past years? The ideas made him shudder compulsively

“I-Ivan,” the American mumbled, his lips loose and the words jumbled and slurred. The Russian grinned at him, though darkness seemed to gather behind his visage.
This was bad.
“Where did you really go when you went to find the vase?” the elder country questioned, his tone saccharine. Alfred furiously attempted to focus, his thoughts forming and dying before he could grasp them.
“Vaaasssee-? I went to find I-Ivan a va-se,” the American found himself saying, the words pouring haphazardly from his mouth.
Oh, fuckIt was a sedative; something intended to inhibit his thought in hopes of revealing secrets, something obtained from the days of the KGB, no doubt. Alfred’s own people had used something similar briefly, but he remembered a flaw; the recipient could still lie, as his people found out, they were just more likely to let something slip when subdued mentally. Okay, he could play this game

The sun had long since traded with the moon when Alfred woke; his head throbbed with a pain, a side-effect of Ivan’s ‘gift,’ assuredly. Groaning, the American fumbled for his glasses, swiping his hand indiscriminately across the night stand. Finding the frames, he slipped them onto his nose, briefly pinching the bridge to try to deaden the pressure. Dazedly, he realized a note was also resting on the table, addressed to him in a slanted, curvy hand.
My dear little patriot,
While I wished I could be here when you woke, urgent business demanded my attention this morning. Take this time to rest and regain your strength, my doll; I will be back by nightfall.
IvanStifling the urge to rip the message to shreds, Alfred re-read it, having been too sleepy to fully grasp the meaning

Slowly opening the door to his room, he carefully flicked his eyes to either end of the hallway. No one. Slipping through the opening, he carefully shut it behind him, moving quickly and deftly along the walls. He didn’t know where he was going, but down was a good start.
After traveling down many flights of lonely stairs, Alfred reached what he assumed to be the bottom floor. Pressed against the panels, he felt a smile creep across his face at the sight of a door. Taking a tentative step, he prepared to make a run for it.
“Stop!”
Alfred froze, his heart nearly exploding in his chest.
“Michael, you bastard, you’re guzzling down my booze ration for an entire fucking monthA barely inaudible sigh of relief passed the American’s lips as he snuck behind a corner, watching the two approaching soldiers pass by his exit

“We all know very well,” the tight voice continued, “who we should credit those to.” The amount of hatred present in that voice made Alfred want to retch.
Suddenly, a screech ripped through the room.
“At-at the window! There’s someone there!” a frightened soprano choked, her tone trembling with fright.
Looking upwards, the American realized that his hood was visible through the glass, having in order to better hear.
FuckStumbling into a sprint, Alfred ran for all he was worth, his chest heaving and legs burning as his eyes watered from the cold

OP wants to say that this gets better and better every time you update! And we understand that work and life in general can get in the way so I won't hold anything against you for it. I will wait! The details on Alfred's appearance is gorgeous and different! I imagine him to look like a girl haha ooh I'm so excited to see more of the other countries!!
third artist!anon, you already made me happy to hear that you're working on fanart for this fill!! I doubt it'll disappoint!

Oh man oh man oh man. What a cliffhanger. I think I might cry, wondering what's going to happen until you update again is going to drive me mad. ...obviously this isn't saying you should update, I hope work goes well. I love what we find out about Al here - Al the master strategist, Al looking delicate? I wonder if Ivan MADE him eat and exercise and style himself to look like that. I also love the concept of him reacting as a master soldier when pushed to it. Have you considered the title "Strategos" for him?

Take your time writing, A-Anon. Real life is definitely more important than a silly fandom :)
