England had thought he understood his colonies and, Austria-like, had started gathering them to him and teaching them how to act, who to obey, and what they owed him. He felt respectable and, with a Hanovarian monarch on the throne, full of stolid German security. It was a world away from his teenaged piracy.
Of course, he had cause to regret that.
"And the Battle of Yorktown, mon ami," France sighed, with a particularly charming grin in America's direction. America seemed content to smirk at England, which was unusual. England had been preparing himself for merciless show-boating at the Treaty of Paris. He simply hadn't known it would be coming from France"Oh, what happened? You used to be so good in water--" England briefly wondered if this was a double entendre, realized he was talking to France, and then ceased to wonder "--but your ships were not firing with as much force, no? Just waited for me to make the first move, lining up to recieve me... Ah, je n'ai pas l'anglais! C'etait simplement magnifique, ma flotte

Non-OP anon fucking loves you. France/America is one of my rarer ships, which is depressing because they play off of and goad each other on so well--you've really captured their mutual (slightly ridiculous but kind of adorable) enthusiasm here, and I love the way they doubleteamed England. XDD
The dialogue and interactions are wonderful and I have to confess to kind of sort really really really wanting more of this orz.
Yes. YES. I love it! France/America is such an amazing ship, especially during/after the American Revolution and ah, you got exactly all the things I love about their relationship. Teaming up to piss off England is just....so very them. Did I mention that I love this?
Ogof, I love France's lines, and America's and ENGLAND's. Umpf, see I knew I would need my first born for a time like this. Sadly, I gave him away quite a few times. Why didn't I wait for you? ;_:
