The first time, Lithuania did everything in his power to discourage the relationship. He had seen Estonia and Russia sitting together, drinking afternoon coffee and looking over the finances for the current year. The movement that gave them away as subtle, almost completely hidden: Estonia leaning over and brushing his fingers over Russia's hand and a soft smile from Russia passing through that careful mask of nothingness. Lithuania had caught his brother alone a couple hours later, when Russia was gone on business

A few months pass before Lithuania gets to speak to either Estonia or Russia after that. He runs into Russia first--in the public men's restroom of the U.N. of all places. Russia is splashing his face with water to wake himself up from whatever meeting he had come out of, yawning as Lithuania draws up next to him at the sinks. When he dries his face, Russia spots Lithuania over his own sink and his eyes brighten

Estonia scowls and rebelliously downs the last of his drink, the flush to his cheeks increasing to a full out blush. Out of the corner of Lithuania's eye, he can see a lot of the other Nations looking over at them, including a scowling America and concerned Poland

Hmmm-mmm... I believe I shall need time to completely digest this one. There is so much in it - by that I mean, for instance, what is known and not known, revealed and concealed. It is something I must look at from many angles to see the whole thing, and even then I can't see the whole thing, not all of it. There is so much contained in it, and I need to look closely - I do believe I will need to read it again, and again, and again.
Ahh, perhaps what I just said does not make very much sense. It is very late and I am very tired and I am not very coherent right now. But what I mean to say is, I like this very much.
Also, I am happy that someone wrote something about Estonia, because I like him very much and there is certainly not enough of him on this meme.

Thanks for filling my request! I didn't think it'd be filled that quickly. We needed some more Estonia love, and you wonderfully gifted this meme with it. I loved the story, so much love to you. ♥

Kind of confused, although I loved the story. Were Estonia and Russia in good relations after the fall of the wall? I didn't follow up on Russia's dealings with his old captives after they all declared independence so I don't know. I like the idea of the relationship though, and Lithuania's reaction to it. I also like how America and Poland seem to always have an eye on Lithuania. It looks like Liet has a way to carve a path into many hearts.
