Late!Anon is still both late and awkward.
Arthur Kirkland was bored.
In polite company he was an only child due to his beloved (bloody stupid) older brother having died of fever. However, the rather unfortunate truth was that his sibling was in (almost annoyingly) good health and apparently quite keen on proving said fact, adding to his already high debts with his gambling and spawning bastards.
As much as Father had disowned his firstborn and made his second son his only heir, to keep his disgraceful deeds at distance from the family, something like compromising the daughter of a bishop and running away with her dowry two days before the marriage was bound to cause talk. When news had reached him Arthur had hurriedly left London with an excuse - the only sensible thing to do was hide away until next season when surely a new scandal would occupy the gossip circles

(Awkward!Anon managed to screw up the posting, sorry!>.<)
He had heard from Edwards that the boy was Old Higgs’s grandson from overseas and he had been sent over from overseas the previous year. He had been helping out in the manor’s stables since then and now that Higgs had more or less retired (and it was about time, he wasn’t even able to get on a carriage anymore and he would have fallen off and get trampled any day. But knowing the old man’s love for his horses, he was likely rather disappointed that it didn’t happen,) he had taken over most of his duties.
Albert (or was it Alfred?) knew his trade, but he was his bearing Arthur didn’t like one bit. Growing up in the ex-colonies had left the lad with God only knew what kind of ideas in his head. He persisted in meeting Arthur’s eyes (even during morning Prayers, the cheeky sod!) and he had even gone so far as to speak to him unprompted, more than once. The only things that had prevented Arthur from taking offence was that such a bold (almost outright rude, really) behaviour had

I'm loving it so far, and Arthur's thoughts about boredom are quite amusing to read.

Don't force the porn if you don't want to, I know I sure don't mind if it doesn't make an appearance!

Anon loves this, and thus -you-. Anon will also take plot over smutt any-day.
But if smutt happens, so be it and anon will be happy.
Let the dice fall as they may. This fiction will get to where it needs to be. ^_^

Make it be EPIC and LONG and AWESOME.
And if there was some smut of course we wouldn't mind at all *winkwink*
but it's sort of awesome to read a fic where the smut is secondary/solely plot-required, etc.
