Liet/Russia: Liet having to deal with a particular bad episode of Russia's madness. At some point Russia tells Liet that he thinks something is wrong with himself.

Lithuania had thought that the worst times were the ones when Russia was attacking him, assaulting him, breaking him down. He had thought that the worst thing was being attacked, having Russia choose to harm him. He had thought there was no way he could hurt any more.
He had been wrong.
This is the worst - watching Russia attack himself, turn his pain inwards. Watching Russia destroy himself. Watching Russia break down. Feeling his own heart wrench with something that could be sympathy and hating himself for even caring about the man who has ruined his life. Russia hurts Lithuania the most when he’s not even trying

It doesn’t come, and instead Russia folds to his knees, the pipe hitting the snow with a dull thud. He’s making a noise that Lithuania can’t place for a moment, but then he recognizes it. Crying. Russia is sobbing, the tears half-freezing as they fall.
Lithuania hasn’t seen Russia cry since 1905.
He wonders if this is the first time he has cried ever since.
“I-I just… I want everyone to be happy and one with me!” Russia yells, and Lithuania’s not certain if the man is speaking to him or the snow or himself or all three. “But it’s all falling apart and my people, my people are dying or fleeing and I feel it every time, it hurts, and you hate me and Winter’s against me now and I don’t… don’t understand… I thought the USSR would mean we could be happy because we’d all be one…”
Lithuania kneels slowly to join Russia as the man continues to speak to the snow.
“I’m working so hard on keeping you all safe together with me and I hate so much to hurt you, you know I do, but I need to make sure you know to stay but you keep trying to

I love this. When I read the prompt I imagined something violent, but this fulfilled what I've been looking for for a while and more. ♥ At the end, Russia's reasons for doing what he does, and what he expected of the USSR... That killed me, anon. Killed me dead.

Yes! Thank you so much! ^__^b I'll do my best on it~ And most likely (like 99% chance) I'll post it to the hetalia community. Is that fine too right? I'd love for you to see it, since I've reread it again and I'm still very inspired XDD and I don't really keep my art anonymous anymore XD
Cried the first time, but you didn't hear that from me...

I'd love to see it on the Hetalia comm! I'm so glad I inspired you, and I'm really eager to see what it looks like in art form! ♥ I'll probably un-anon myself when you post it up... XD

Oh. OH. *whimpers*
This was so heartbreakingly gorgeous. SO - so - I can't even -
*flails like a squid on speed*
The little historical touches are so beautiful, little gracenotes to this wonderfully sad song. The canal. The pain of the madness, the suffering, the system breaking down and Russia knowing it but knowing what to do, Liet's fear and the gritty reality of the pain and the cold and the snow, Russia's cracked blue lips, everything Russia wants and why - god. It's so perfect. I love this so, so much.

You have done a great thing, anon. See, I like Russia but I love Liet, so when Russia is around Liet I always stop liking him because of what he's done... but you with your wonderful writing and your perfect choice of situations and just making Russia so... so SAD that I can't be mad at him have pulled off something amazing, beautiful, poignant... just, wow.
Make it angsty please, Anon.
