Spamano - The Church

The Church is the only place that Romano feels actually...at peace. Like he's on top of the world and nothing could ever, ever hurt him, and for this he's always been faithful to the Church (constant cursing aside).
However, when he begins to get feelings for Spain and realizes what these feelings are, he goes and confesses -
in which the Priest promptly freaks the hell out.
I would love to see something about Romano having to break away from the official Church while still maintaining his religion (or not, I suppose) while falling in love with Spain and letting himself fall in love with Spain.
To be truthful, I'm actually an atheist-apatheist, but I love religious prompts, especially something that could be interpreted as beautifully and angst-ily as this.
My Catholic angst, let me show it to you

Different!anon to the one above. I want to be all over this like some really innapropriate analogies for the subject matter.
By which I mean, I've been exactly there and I'd love to fill this well for you but make it pretty and full of lovely nation-boys because I am a terrible former Catholic
But aside from the rambling, where is your position on keeping strictly detailed with the roman catholisicm? Because, well, I know all the latin which would fit, but would probably end up as intensly annoying as gratuitous France!French. So is it okay with you if I keep it to 99% english?
Did you have a preference with names? Because I have a bit of headcannon with that but I can fiddle with it a bit if you're particularly inclined either way.
it really doesn't matter to me, but if we're talking human names I'm alright with either Lovino or Romano for S. Italy (I've heard it either way) and the regular canon name for Spain.
If this wasn't what you had in mind, let me know? I'm really fine with anything, I would just like to hear.
