One fine day Alfred is called to see his acquaintance, Nation A. Apparently Nation A has found something fascinating that Alfred simply must see. Upon his arrival, Alfred is led down to the basement, where he is introduced to Arthur, a very pretty young man with wings, who is currently being kept in a sort of large birdcage.
Alfred's fascination soon gives way to horror when he sees that Arthur, who has the mind of a human, is being kept as a pet and treated poorly. Cue rescue, living together, and development of romance.
The phone’s demanding rings cut off as Alfred disconnected it. His mobile had been switched off for hours, and he hadn’t even bothered going online to check his emails. A feeling of isolation was beginning to creep in on him

... Holy shit, but I'm glad you didn't leave us on this cliffhanger last time! I would have been going nuts. Damn, Alfred is braver than I am; I would never have opened that door. O.o

OH LAWD
I am more in love with this story than ever. The initial confrontation was so intense, and I was so terrified~ O.O And oh, Matthew not knowing! That was brilliant. Arthur pouncing out of nowhere being all protective a-and we got some BADASS WING ACTION YES. <3 I was really struck by Arthur's comment that he'd rather "see [Gilbert in a cage]" and the barbs thrown between him and Gilbert...he gives as good as he gets, of course!
Please don't stop, Anon! Or at the very least marry me!

I seriously love the relationship between Arthur and Alfred. When Alfred said he'll wait for Arthur, I just melted. *sighs*
