When Lithuania first meets Poland the other nation is seated grandly on a throne chair of velvet and gold inlays, bedecked in a fine woven red zupan and a thick, brilliant green delia threaded through with silver that matches the nation's eyes. By comparison Lithuania feels homely, dressed in his colorful linen coat and riding breeches made of thick linen weaves and yarn. Poland smirks at him and Lithuania thinks, Can we really get along? Then Poland says, "I have heard about your coming for quite some time," in a beautiful, high, lilting voice, and Lithuania's eyes go wide

"Poland," Lithuania asks hundreds of years later, "Did you dress like a man back then because it was safer?" When he thinks back on those times, he's a little shocked by how everyone treated women (and even now Poland and America tell Lithuania he's old-fashioned).
Poland finishes buttoning her pink shirt and throws a tie around her collar. "What do you think? Half-Windsor or Windsor?"
"Half," Lithuania says. "Poland?"
"Dude, I just liked guy's clothes," Poland says. "They were pretty fine. Still are, actually." She finishes tying her tie and pulls on a suit jacket; the shoulder pads broaden her out until she almost looks like a male. "How do I look?"
"Handsome," Lithuania says.
"Perfect," Poland grins, before sidling into Lithuania's arms for a goodbye kiss.

So you can read about traditional Polish dress on Wikipedia, although I fudged the timeline a bit. Lithuanian traditional clothing is really pretty, too - it's colorful and has all these beautiful weaves of yarn patterns in the fabric. It's just not as '

haha this was really sweet and amusing. I like how Poland's like "show me your penis" as a way of suggesting consumation. It seems like a very Poland thing to do.
Crossdressing really can be 'just because'. Nowadays it's pretty normal to see women in business attire that's similar to a man's, but I, like Poland, sometimes wanna dress like a guy for no good reason. :) and because suits are fabulous. (and have you ever tried to ride a horse in a dress? As if! Lol Poland would hate that.)

Aww, this was funny and cute. Poland always manages to look fabulous no matter what he/she's wearing, right? ;D
Personally, I think guy's clothes have gotten worse with the times. They used to be really awesome looking, with feathers or shiny buckles or bright colors or other really cool things. Nowadays, at least in America, they're kinda boring and not very colorful at all. Unless they're T-shirts, but those are baggy, and even though they have their place, I prefer girls clothes XD But then again, maybe it's just that my dad refuses to wear colorful business clothes and my brother likes baggy stuff that looks pretty horrible....
I love your notes, by the way. Especially the "glittering army of DEATH" line. XD Some people may think Poland's character is too girly, but I like to think he's pretty spot-on with the stylishness at least.
If there has to be a pairing... I'm partial to LietPol.
Bonus: She still likes pink and speaks with a valley girl twang.

Also, I totally want to steal Poland's wardrobe. I don't care if it's for girls or guys, they just sound so pretty and colorful.

"No, you don't! I never see you in them," Lithuania protests, eying a dress of forest-colored velveteen.
What are you saying, Lithuania? Want to see Poland fill out that dress?
