Any/Any- From friends/lovers to bitter rivals

I would like to see two nations who were friends (even if there countries weren't exactly friendly) go from friends to rivals. Yes, they could have had an established relationship instead of just friendship. It can be set at the beginning, as a flash back to the event, or what the turning point was that caused them to change.
human!au, nation!au, or sticking more to canon is fine. By rivals it can mean more then just war.
Bonus 1: I enjoy the FrUK, RUSA, China/America Bonus 2: They fought against their situation but in the hatred/fear/others got to them. A third nation that is /unexpected/ interfering and screwing their hard work up is <3 bonus 3: some desperation as they realize what their about to lose. Even if its not shown out load.
