Japan's eyes flew open. He had been sleeping in Greece's meadows again. He got up, rubbed the sleep from his eyes, and looked for the source of the sound. Beside him was Greece, face buried in a Japanese phrasebook. His back was turned to Japan, so he wasn't aware that the other nation was already awake.
At first, Japan thought he had been dreaming those words. Then, he thought Greece was saying it to him while he was asleep, a thought he banished quickly because it made his poor old heart jump in cartwheels. Now he sees that Greece had only been practicing his Japanese. Sighing breathlessly (disappointedly?), he rolled back on the grass and closed his eyes. He waited for sleep to reclaim him, but no slumber came. Instead, echoes of "I love you" in Greece's voice reverberated in his head, causing palpitations and blood pressure fluctuations inside him.
Calm down, Nihon, he thought to himself. This is just a side effect of watching too much shounen

Well, this isn't directly vocally saying I love you, but I hope it's close enoughCanada sat broodily on his lawn chair, not really wanting to go inside and not really wanting to stay out. He was in what used to be called a "deep funk" but was sort of indeterminate now. A thousand things contributed to his mood, like the onset of cold weather, the breaking of his Xbox, and the lack of a certain insanely optimistic person. Damn America for going to Hawaii on a business trip and leaving his brother to freeze his ass off in Ontario. Not that it was either of their faults, but still
