Did you know? The Emancipation Proclamation was a wonderful humanitarian document, but it was also a brilliant political move. Up until Lincoln signed it the Civil War was not explicitly about freeing the slaves. After hearing the South was making overtures to England and France for aid, Lincoln wrote the Proclamation and so the War was suddenly over a human rights issue, and the free nations of Europe couldn't conscience aiding the slave owners.
I want America presenting this document to England, on his knees for help and warning England off of the South. Multiple personalities or a new 'brother' The Confederacy is fine with me. Acknowledge the real issues of the time, like the treatment of these brand new citizens and the cotton trade that made slavery thrive anew. Break my heart, anon.

Especially the bonus. Anon is fascinated by the English insistence in stopping slave trading in American continent (and not only in the USA).
