Not just any Sandman crossover, a crossover for the end of Sandman, "The Wake". (Should I warn for spoilers? Well, just in case, here be spoilers.)
As those who have read Sandman know, at the end of it Morpheus dies, and everyone goes into the dreaming for his wake, where they all tell stories of their experiences with Dream. I would love to see something where the nations are among the wake, and they share their thoughts on Morpheus and on dreams.
Something poignant and heart-breaking please.
Bonus: As one of the oldest nations China knew him better than the others.

It was in this China made his speech, and all of the other nations took their turn or said nothing. England watched and waited silently. The order seemed fair in that when he felt it was his time, no one else had risen to go to the Altar, so he went. He followed what was in his gut, and felt what he needed to say rise up in him like his magic whenever he used it. He wasn't terribly surprised to hear his old Anglo-Saxon language come from his lips, but got the feeling that because this was a dream, it would be understood anyways
( ... )
Oh gosh anon, this is wonderful and really speaks to the tone of The Wake, especially how they all go on with their normal lives once they wake up. And the idea of England having connections to Fiddler's Green and Titania was brilliant as well.
You're very welcome, thank you for the great request.
Believe me this was giving me so many ideas I just had to trim them down though because while they were good ideas (like the Morpheus being one of the people who could see Canada quite well and has some discussions with him that influenced certain things today) they felt tacked on. And a few other ones I am probably going to see if I can't work on those ideas elsewhere and see if they can't brew into their own little writings.
It just felt right to have them resume their lives in matching with the end of the comic. They were going to Dream about the night or snatches of it again. All of them had managed while Dream was absent and I did want to keep it in tone because I really do love the book. The comic has such a gorgeous tone to it I'm glad it spoke to it.

Oh...oh my. I love The Sandman, and this was a perfect tribute to it. The tone was just dreamlike enough to be reminiscent of the original comic book, and I loved China's words the most. And the three countries waking up and going about their lives normally was somehow the perfect closing touch to the wake, maybe because it shows that even as Dream dies, he is reborn and the world keeps on moving.
Ahhh, I hope I'm making sense. Good fics tend to leave me incoherent and gibbering.

Thank you very much, for the kind words. And I was going for that because it did in the comics, and I had loved the frames of a few of the characters waking up they said a lot. You made enough sense for me anon.
