OP favors Canada/Ukraine over all other het pairing in this series, and this made her heart clench, but ultimately, it felt warm and good and healing. That was, without a doubt, the single most heartbreaking story in the thread so far (I havent' yet read the ones below). Poor poor darling. My vengeful side makes me seethe that her bastard father didn't meet what he deserved; part of me wants to believe that whatever Ivan's problem is, he shares with his alter ego Russia's ability to drive others to terror and insanity, and he paid him a visit
