Civil War hurt/comfort, plz?

Russia was the only European power to support the Union during the American Civil War, so anon would love to see fic about Russia trying to offer moral support during the darkest period of America's history.
No split personalities from America, please. If you'd like to make a OC Confederacy that's fine, but I'm not a fan of the 'civil war as multiple personalities' thing.
Bonus: Russia is a little (or more than a little) clumsy about comforting America (as he's not exactly the kind of person people usually seek out for comfort, so he's just not used to being relied on like this.)
