Aw. This is adorable. My sad headcannon is that Hungary can't have biological children, so I can totally see her doing something like that. It's like ...Like her relationships with other countries are so old and complicated, she gets lonely for someone she can trust forever, so she confides in mortals. It's sad to me. And you wrote a similar vein very nicely here.
