France/America - The Perfect Father Figure anonymous May 10 2010, 22:48:44 UTC
So, during the Revolutionary War, France helped out America. This anon believes that at this time period, America was 1.) upset at England for how he was treating his nation, and 2.) while eager to be independent, feeling immeasurably alone. Even if he'd had to wait for England before, at least he had someone to wait for.

So. Enter France. Who, based on what America remembers Canada speaking fondly about, is a great parent figure: warm, open, loving. And America finds out that it's all true. And oh man, America wants that kind of affection. France, who hasn't had a son since England took him from his hands, finds a special pleasure in being that "perfect father figure" to America (if only initially out of revenge). It gradually becomes an honest, real system of support for America.

... Which is great until France realizes, I want to hit that.

Angst, fluff, smut, I'd take any and all gratefully. How does it end? Does France hit that, anyway (hard)? Is he conflicted and overcomes it? Does he give in during a moment of ( ... )

Damn, I think I have to try this now anonymous May 10 2010, 23:32:11 UTC
Just two questions:
1. Do you prefer human or country names?
and
2. What's your stance on France spouting random French? (I can't speak a word of it but if OP wants I have a friend who knows enough for small phrases or something)

I... I love you. *wibbles and clings* ♥ ♥ ♥ If you ever get to it, I seriously, seriously would give you my soul and anything else you request.

To answer your questions:

1.) I prefer country names, but it won't bother me terribly if you use human either.

2.) Likewise here, I have no stance. XD I can't speak a word of it, either, so feel free not to use any or to interject whatever you like.

SERIOUSLY, I WILL GIVE YOU EPIC LOVE.

Papa, Why Do People Love? [1/?] anonymous May 11 2010, 01:18:08 UTC
"I guess I don't have to wait for him anymore," America mused to himself on the now-empty pier where he sat, his surroundings illuminated only by the moon that hung heavy and full in the night sky.

Looking out at the dark expanse of water he took in a deep breath, the salty scent bringing back memories of happier times. The ocean waves of the Atlantic had always been comforting before, because they would bring England ever closer to him and his shores; even if they took him away again as well, they would always return him to America. That the waves would still bring England to him, this time for a purpose that now crushed his heart, was inherently wrongHe absently scrubbed at his eyes with the sleeve of his white canvas jacket. America had been a good colony he thought. He was sure of it. Well okay, sometimes he liked to go a little farther in the wilds than England wanted him to, but he was usually good at obeying the other orders given by the nation that raised him. After the war though England would no longer hug him or even pat ( ... )

alskdjslkslk!!

Okay, OP really, really loves you. I can already tell that this fill has everything (yes, everything) I secretly wanted but was too shy to hope for in this fill. Oh my god, anon, take my soul, it's yours. How are you doing that, how?!

I mean, take the very first line - that was exactly the sort of thing I was picturing for America, in regards to his loneliness. That "I guess I don't have to wait for him anymore." alksd. ♥

The ocean waves of the Atlantic had always been comforting before, because they would bring England ever closer to him and his shores; even if they took him away again as well, they would always return him to America. That the waves would still bring England to him, this time for a purpose that now crushed his heart, was inherently wrong. This here? This is just gloriously perfect. Yes, yes, yes. Oh America. You big woobie, come take a hug. Lovely writing~.

XD XD "You've done worse." YES, THIS IS VERY IN-CHARACTER FTW.

At nights when Canada would let him sleep in ( ... )

I'm so glad this is being filled! aw, America, you're such a darling...I like how childish he still sounds in his affections...I can't wait to see France ^^
(actually, I didn't realize I'd feel this bad for Canada...but man, do I feel bad for him. He lost France, and he's gonna witness his former guardian being all fatherly and kind to his always-overshadowing brother...)

This is a win and a half! America craving France's acceptance is so cute! <3 This should be a drastic change for America: going from England's reserved personality to France's exuberant one. Oh, I can't wait to see where this goes!
