Russia doesn't seem to realize that it's somewhat threatening to stalk interest/ ask if love interest will become one with you, etc.
Sweden just... has sort of intimidating exterior, even when he's a sweet person on the inside.
The nicer Germany acts the more North Italy is terrified. (I'm thinking of that one strip where Germany is being quite nice, offering Italy a break for food, etc, and the nicer he is the more Italy thinks Germany is pissed at him, because Germany is usually a drill sergeant nasty and that's what Italy is used to.)
After finding out they have similar problems these three team up like the bad friends trio and try to help each other get with their love interests.
I'm partial to Russia/America Sweden/Finland and Germany/Italy, but if you want to change it I'm ok with that! Just no Russia/Lithuania please.
