“That’s not funny, you know.”
Hong Kong raised an eyebrow at China’s sharp reprimand. He leaned back in the bus seat and feigned a quizzical expression. “What do you mean?”
China glared, trying to look angry to hide his clearly hurt expression. “That!” he protested, pointing across the aisle at Hong Kong’s chest.
He glanced down at the T-shirt, the neat, red letters spelling out: Made in China. When he looked back up at the nation in question, he put on an expression of blank innocence. “Yes?”
“Well…!” China flailed his arms exasperatedly. “What in the hell do you mean by that?”
Hong Kong cocked his head. “Well, it’s true, in a way. Isn’t it?”
“Ugh!” China rolled his eyes exaggeratedly. “Why do you have to make everything weird, Hong Kong?”
Hong Kong smirked inwardly, and turned towards the window. He had an idea that the T-shirt would have this effect of bewildering and upsetting the larger nation.
