Huzzah for spacing out~

Anon was thinking of War of 1812 which America does succeed in invading Canada (Manifest Destiny, woo) and anon thought of America actually stealing/taking Canada's voice, thus silencing the voice of his people (through rough kissing or magic, anything, up to authoranon). So Matt is basically a mute, but what dear Alfred doesn't know is that Matt can still speak in French but only in a whisper of a voice, since America only took the voice of English Canada. France discovers this somehow?
