A/N: This is my first-ever short, one chapter fic! (Does this count as a drabble?) Usually I write much longer stuff so this is a practice to help me try to keep my writing style short and precise. Look at me, I’m already rambling :-P

It was the Victorian Era. Arthur’s eyes ached. Bloodshot, he continued to wander the darkened streets of old London town, his square-toed boots crunching through the snow. He passed barely a soul - the occasional couple toppling out of a masquerade ball, delirious, or a street harlot reaching to him with promises of indulgent depravity.

Part of him was tired, exhausted. But another part yearned for something more. Something ... sinful. He crossed the deserted market square, determined to wear himself out so that sleep would be a welcome relief from his desires which were so ... corrupt ... debauched ... disgustingHe wore no gloves, despite it being the fashion. writer!anon here: a massive apology to those readers whose comments have been deleted. I had posted this fic with Alfred's name instead of Arthur's so I asked the mods to delete it so I could fix it up. Any comments linked to the fic also ended up being deleted too. I'm so sorry! Not going to lie, I chuckled affectionately at your earlier fail.
But I'm so glad you fixed it up. This is intense and deliciously accurate.
The Victorian Era was a neat time to live. Never was England more sexually repressed in principal, but it also spawned some of the best porn out there...

writer anon was going to try to work in the homosexuality angle too since that was a double big sin but I couldn't figure how to do it without detracting from the main story. But, uh, maybe that explains my earlier stuff up?? lol

Oh this was great!! Interestingly enough, the reason for all this repression (in males specifically) was because it was thought that a man was born with a specific amount of semen and as a result it was important to keep it for when it was needed (baby-making) then to use it up for self-pleasure.
