Things happened rapid succession, despite the slow passing of precious seconds. America knew he was being dragged backwards, being slammed down against the hood of the settling car. An elbow, not his own, connected with the middle of his back, causing him to cry out in pain ( ... )

Oh goodness writer-anon!
I just read through all of this and I have to tell you I'm over-joyed! This is already an amazing fill and far exceeded anything I expected. I adore your characterizations so far and will be eagerly awaiting Wednesday for the next update. (regular updates? Anon, you are simply awesome! I know how difficult it can be to maintain deadlines so you definitely have my admiration for that.)

I love America's caution in all this, well aware he's at a big disadvantage, and yet still so characteristically hasty in his actions. C: And Russia easily derailing his train-of-thought from his note taking? The way how he is setting up a (controlled) environment for America in a twisted, caring way. Oh, and the various boxes of nick-knacks were adorable in that I can only imagine they were put there for America's entertainment. XD

All-in-all, I can't tell you how much I truely thank you anon! This is all just kickass work.

Ahh, I love fics like this, really. And don't worry, plans usually tend to fail, nothing new. Though this kind of fail is pretty much very awesome, keep up with the good work! I am enjoying this so far and I can't wait to see what is going to happen.

The second America was out of his room,‭ ‬he had expected to fly through the house,‭ ‬zip straight to the front door and make a perfect exit.‭ ‬But that kind of stuff only happened in the movies ( ... )

He turned his attention back to the phone,‭ ‬heart fluttering with joy at how very‭ ‬crisp it appeared to him.‭ ‬Every number on the pad was perfectly clear,‭ ‬a beautiful sight for his eyes.‭ ‬He picked the receiver up again,‭ ‬this time momentarily bungling it in his excitement,‭ ‬but he hardly noticed.‭ ‬With his sight back,‭ ‬America was invincible ( ... )

"To tell the truth,‭ ‬I was planning to do such a thing,‭ ‬but then you had your little‭─‬" Russia hummed for a few seconds,‭ ‬searching for the appropriate word,‭ "‬─episode.‭"

"Well,‭ ‬what were you expecting me to do‭?"

"I can tell you that I wasn't expecting you to play dead,‭ ‬or whatever little trick it was that you were trying to accomplish.‭"

"I thought I had you fooled,‭" ‬America huffed under his breath.

‭"‬Oh no,‭ ‬I quite enjoyed the show,‭ ‬you have fine acting talents,‭ ‬but I was not lying when I said I had not tampered with your drink.‭ ‬It was vodka,‭ ‬pure and simple,‭ ‬and no matter how poor your ability to hold your drink is,‭ ‬a sip or two would not knock you out.‭"

America licked his lips nervously as he tried to put the pieces together.‭ ‬He had been so‭ ‬sure Russia was going to drug him,‭ ‬especially when Russia hadn't drunk any vodka himself.‭ "‬If you didn't put anything in it,‭ ‬why didn't you have some ( ... )

‭"‬Russia‭?" ‬America questioned meekly,‭ ‬feigning a quiver in his voice.‭ "‬Would you do me a favor‭?"

"I shall grant you every last little thing you ask for,‭ ‬my panicky little bird.‭ ‬Or at least,‭ ‬almost anything.‭" ‬Just not your freedom.

‭"‬That's great,‭ ‬that's‭ ‬fantastic,‭" ‬America forced his voice to be high,‭ ‬chipper,‭ ‬nearly hysteric.‭ "‬For starters,‭ ‬you can kiss my ass‭!"

America ripped the phone from its spot and bolted,‭ ‬leaving a momentarily stunned Russia behind him.‭ ‬His feet ricocheted off the floor as he ran at full pelt,‭ ‬winding and curving and ducking and‭ ‬escaping.‭ ‬His heart thudded with the effort,‭ ‬lungs burning fiercely as his legs pumped and carried him through the house without pause.

‭ ‬His shoulder clipped a doorframe.‭ ‬His feet tangled in the cords of the phone.‭ ‬The floor flew up to meet his face,‭ ‬or maybe‭ ‬he was the one flying to meet‭ ‬it.‭ ‬The phone struck his stomach as he landed,‭ ‬clattering loudly enough to cover to sound of America's breath leaving him ( ... )

‭"‬Yeah,‭" ‬America breathed,‭ "‬I'm going to run again.‭" ‬And with that,‭ ‬he sprinted‭ ‬past Russia ( ... )

Russia hopped off the last step,‭ ‬spinning his gun like a makeshift cane.‭ ‬He brought the gun up steady,‭ ‬fingers winding around the bolt,‭ ‬pulling it back and away from the gun.‭ ‬His hand dropped to a pocket stitched into his coat,‭ ‬fishing two rounds out and popping them back into the magazine of the gun before pushing the bolt back into place.

America pushed the phone to his shoulder,‭ ‬as if muffling it for the non-existent voice on the other end.‭ "‬You can't bring a gun to a‭ ‬knife fight,‭" ‬America shrieked shrilly.‭ "‬It's‭ ‬man law"Is it now‭?" ‬Russia said, covering a bored yawn with the back of his hand.‭ "‬I have no need to prove my masculinity,‭ ‬therefore I see no reason to obey this‭ '‬man law ( ... )

Aw, man, I love this story! I'm a little scared of this Russia, but then again I think that's the point, he's really deliciously psychotic <3

And yeah, America would try to run away at first opportunity and fail miserably at that lol

Also, it may be just me, but after Russia's character CD my headcanon says that he's an exceptional violin player :3

Oh wow, this was a great chapter. I'm even more excited than I was before to see what happens next~

During the whole thing, I knew America wouldn't be able to escape/call anyone, but I was sort of hoping that he would anyway, just because it was a little bit sad reading about his hopes being crushed like that ;_;

Russia, injecting things in the neck is really dangerous!! Seriously, man. You're going to give America a stroke or something.

(I totally forgot about the lack of caller ID when I was reading, hahaha...)

I think Russia would play... uh... well, a string instrument, definitely (character CD~~~). Out of those, maybe he'd play cello or viola? Those are both pretty badass (and still romantic) instruments, if I do say so myself.

Aw man, that was so tense. Even though it was a forgone conclusion that America wouldn't be able to escape you still got across his desperation so clearly.

And Russia, man, he is so intense during this segment. Shivers.

I can't wait to see what you have planned next! Although I do hope we get the chance to see Russia's softer side during this story.

And I see Russia as a type to either pay the violin or the cello. Although I would go with cello because Austria already has the vioolin covered and the cello has a much deeper sound which I think suits Russia better.

Oh good, I wanted Russia to come off as a really intense person without having to resort to lots and lots of brute force and bone crushing. I can assure you that Russia will soften up as the story moves along, since I am a personal fan of Russia not just being crazy 24/7. It seems too one dimensional to me if he is.

Thanks for the suggestions. ♥

First and foremost, let me tell you that you have a talent for writing suspense. Even though it was already known that America wasn't going to escape, I was on the edge of my seat thinking, "Is he going to be able to make the call.... OH SNAP, RUSSIA!"

On that note: Russia. Playing Tchaikovsky. On the Cello. <- headcanon Specifically, Nocturne (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhCrtoFuylY&feature=related) while a record plays the orchestra part in the background... Plz?

Holy buckets, America. I'm scared for the poor kid, completely at the mercy of a very unstable yet complex Russia.

Russia can make the trombone sexy. Somehow.

It's much more difficult to make us believe in a Russia who plays the trombone instead of a Russia who spends long, lonely hours with a cello, but it fits my headcanon as well as America and his ukulele or England playing the spoons.
